A passenger car on the bridge fell into the water, and the truck was stuck in an almost vertical position.
In the south of Norway on Monday, August 15, a wooden bridge collapsed across the river Gudbrandsdalslagen. At that moment, there were two cars on the bridge, AP reports.
It was found that the bridge, which connects the west bank of the river Gudbrandsdalslagen and the village of Tretten, collapsed at 7:30 local time, when a car and a truck were moving along it.
Due to the collapse of the bridge, the passenger car fell into the water, and the truck was stuck almost vertically, but the drivers of the two vehicles were rescued. At the same time, a helicopter was brought in to rescue the truck driver.
“It’s a complete disaster, completely unreal. It’s also a relatively new bridge. It’s completely destroyed, everything has collapsed,” commented Tretten’s village leader Jon Halvor Midtmageli at the event.
The bridge across the river Gudbrandsdalslagen was built in 2012, its length is about 150 meters. It is still unknown what caused the bridge to collapse.
Earlier it was reported that traffic across the Zdvizh River has been restored at Borodyanka in the Kyiv region.
