In the capital of Armenia, five people became victims of the strongest explosion in the Surmalu shopping center on Sunday, August 14. Radio Azatutyun reported this.
As indicated, all the dead were middle-aged.
At the same time, another 19 people were reported missing. In addition, 61 people were injured, 24 of whom were hospitalized.
A criminal case was opened on the fact of the explosion under two articles – violation of fire safety rules or requirements, negligence that caused the death of a person or other serious consequences, and violation of rules or necessary for the storage, accounting, transportation, delivery or use of flammable or combustible materials, which negligence caused human death or other serious consequences.
The reasons for the incident have not yet been established.
