The indicator of 75% of the authorities reached two weeks earlier than planned. The next target is 85% by October 1st.
As of August 14, German gas storage facilities are 75% full. The authorities plan to achieve this indicator only on September 1. Such data led Klaus Müller, head of the German Federal Network Agency.
According to him, Berlin’s next goal is to fill the UGS facilities by 85% by October 1 and by 95% by November 1.
“We reached the first intermediate goal ahead of schedule. This is good. Now the main thing is not to stop,” said the head of the German regulator in a comment to the Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper.
At the same time, Muller emphasized that Germany must reduce gas consumption by 20% in order to pass the winter season.
It has been reported that the injection of gas into European storage facilities is on schedule, despite the reduction in Russian supplies.
