A fire breaks out in a church in Egypt, more than 40 dead

The fire broke out around 09:00 local time.

Previously, a short circuit in the electrical wiring on the second floor was the cause of the fire at the Abu Sefein church.

“I am closely following the developments related to the tragic accident. I have instructed all relevant bodies and state institutions to take all necessary measures and immediately deal with this accident and its consequences,” wrote by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Twitter.

Also today, explosions rocked the Surmalu shopping center in Yerevan, as a result of which one person died and 20 were injured.
