The first four Zuzana artillery mounts are already at the disposal of the Ukrainian military.
Slovakia has delivered the first four Zuzana self-propelled artillery mounts to Ukraine. This was announced on Twitter by the Minister of Defense of Slovakia Yaroslav Nagy.
The minister said that the installations are already at the disposal of the Ukrainian military.
“They are ready to be used and protected from Russian aggressors,” Nagy said.
The Zuzana 2 is an upgrade of the previous Zuzana at 155mm. In 2018, the Slovak army bought 25 gun mounts. They were given to the army in July to replace the previous generation.
The gun mount, thanks to the barrel length of 52 caliber instead of 45, is capable of firing at a maximum distance of up to 40 km. The turret has the ability to turn 360 degrees, and thanks to automation, the number of crew has been reduced from 4 to 3. The howitzer also has an automatic loader, which allows you to fire in MRSI mode – many shells can hit a target at the same time.
Earlier, Yaroslav Nagy announced the supply of Zuzana self-propelled guns to Ukraine.
Recall that the Ukrainian military is already trained on the Slovak Zuzana 2 self-propelled gun.
