Another EU country backed the ban on Russians

Lithuanian institutions responsible for areas such as national security, visa issuance and border control are currently reviewing the decisions made by Estonia and Latvia.

Lithuania supports the Estonian authorities’ decision to ban Russians from entering the country and believes it should be extended to the entire European Union. This is what Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said on August 13.

“Lithuania continues to promote sanctions against aggressive states and adheres to the position that restrictions work more effectively if they are applied at the EU level,” the Lithuanian Foreign Minister quoted BNS as saying.

Lithuanian institutions responsible for areas such as national security, visa issuance and border control are currently reviewing the decisions made by Estonia and Latvia, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“The first assessment of the relevant institutions suggests that the decisions of Estonia and Latvia are very similar to the restrictions currently implemented in Lithuania,” the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said.

It was previously reported that at the Estonian border there were large queues of those who wanted to leave Russia.
