“After 80 years, the airborne division known as the Whirling Eagles will return to Europe to protect NATO’s eastern flank, silence our allies and contain our adversaries,” the report said.
It was noted that after the commitment of the Secretary of Defense of the United States, Lloyd Austin, additional troops were sent to several NATO countries. 2,400 soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division will be sent to Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovakia.
