Ukraine will receive additional financial support from European allies.
At the conference of the Northern European allies on support for Ukraine at the level of defense ministers in Copenhagen, it was agreed to provide Kyiv with additional support in the amount of 1.5 billion euros. The Ukrainian authorities can spend this money on the purchase of weapons or the training of fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Danish Minister of Defense Morten Bodskov stated this at the final conference, Jyllands-Posten reports.
A number of countries at the conference also expressed a desire to support Ukraine, but first they must go home and discuss this in their parliaments, the official said.
The conference participants discussed the demining process in Ukraine. It was agreed that the demining mission would be prepared by Spain.
Head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov said at a press conference that he was pleased with the results of the conference.
In Copenhagen, it was also agreed to set up a fund to increase funding for the production of weapons. This fund will be managed by London. And the representatives of Poland and Slovakia said they would increase their own production of weapons.
Recall, United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said on August 10 that the United States, together with its allies, would continue to provide military assistance to Ukraine, and there would be as much assistance as needed.
