A few years ago, such a scenario regarding the Zaporizhzhya NPP was considered in detail by the German side.
The risk for Germany in the event of an accident at ZNPP is not high. This was announced on Thursday, August 11, by the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection, writes zdf.
So, the representative of the department Florian Goering, when asked by journalists, if a massive release of radioactivity occurs in Zaporozhye, what effect will it have on Germany, he emphasized: “At the moment we have no signs of release of radioactive substances.”
The official said that a few years ago, such a scenario regarding ZNPP was considered in detail.
“We found that, fortunately, only 17% of all weather conditions can contain dirty air in Germany. In most cases, the air will blow to the east and, therefore, more towards Russia,” Goering said.
It will be remembered that today, August 11, the Russian invaders fired again at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. Five “arrivals” were recorded in the area of the station commandant’s office – next to the welding site and the storage of radiation sources.
Last week, the commander of the Russian garrison at the ZNPP announced that it was a mine and was ready to detonate it.
At the same time, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN, Serhiy Kyslitsa, in his speech to the UN Security Council, called for the withdrawal of Russian troops from its territory and the return of Ukraine’s control over the station.
