Finland cut off postal communications with Belarus and Russia

The suspension relates to the transportation of letters and parcels from Finland to Russia and Belarus, as well as from Russia and Belarus to Finland.

Finland on Monday, April 11, suspended postal communications with Russia and Belarus. This was reported by the state company Posti.

“From April 11, 2022, Posti suspended the sending of all letters and parcels between Finland and Russia, as well as between Finland and Belarus for further notification due to exceptional circumstances in accordance with Universal Postal Union agreements “The suspension applies to the transportation of letters and parcels from Finland to Russia and Belarus, as well as from Russia and Belarus to Finland,” the message said.

It is noticed that items that cannot be delivered are returned to the senders.

Delivery of commercial items, including urgent correspondence and shipment, has been suspended since March 15.

Recall that Finland has suspended passenger and freight rail transportation from Russia for an indefinite period.

Finland was previously reported to be ready to quickly abandon gas and oil from the Russian Federation.
