The White House reviewed the explosions in Crimea

In the occupied Crimea, there were explosions at the Novofedorovka air base, which the Russian occupiers use, among other things, in the war against Ukraine.

The White House believes that Crimea could be a “legitimate target” for strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was announced on Tuesday, August 9, by White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in a briefing.

In particular, journalists asked him a question: “Is Crimea a legitimate target for strikes? Because the Pentagon was previously convinced that Crimea could not be the target of the weapons it supplies to Ukraine? “

Addressing him, Jean-Pierre said that “the United States will continue to provide support to Ukraine so that it repels Russia’s unprovoked aggression.

“And it will remain a priority for the United States,” he stressed.

The spokesman emphasized that the fighting continues in the east and southeast of Ukraine, and that they are “far away.”

“We know this could be a protracted war,” a White House spokesman said.

It will be remembered that today, August 9, in Crimea, near Novofedorovka, explosions occurred at a military base of the Russian Federation.

Gauleiter of the peninsula Sergei Aksyonov said that at least one person died as a result of the explosions at the airport.

As stated in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, large explosions at an air base in Crimea occurred due to the detonation of ammunition.
