Explosions at an air base near Novofedorovka in the occupied Crimea, which sounded today, August 9, were the result of a strike behind which Ukrainian forces stood.
This is reported by the American edition of The New York Times, citing a high-ranking Ukrainian military man.
The source of the publication did not disclose the type of weapon from which the blow was struck, but noted that “a device exclusively of Ukrainian production was used.”
It was an airbase from which planes regularly took off to attack our forces in the southern direction, – said the source of the publication.
The New York Times notes that Ukraine has few weapons that can reach the peninsula other than planes, which need to avoid Russia’s powerful air defenses on the peninsula, which Russian dictator Vladimir Putin considers his “sacred land” to do so.
Recall that the media published a satellite photo of the airfield in the Crimea, made a few hours before the explosions.
