The SBU and the Office of the Prosecutor General announce the arrest of killers of the Russian special services who planned to commit a series of contract killings of representatives of the highest military-political leadership and public figures of Ukraine.
For the murder of each of them, Russian “curators” promised a reward in the amount of 100 to 150 thousand dollars. This was announced today, August 8, on the official pages of the SBU and the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Among the goals of these killers, in particular, were:
- Minister of Defense;
- head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence;
- adviser to one of the ministers;
- one of the leaders of the “National Corps” – in the past the commander of the reconnaissance regiment of the Ukrainian military unit “Azov”.
As a result of a multi-stage special operation, a sabotage and reconnaissance group of the main department of the General Staff of the SR RF (better known as the GRU) was neutralized, the SBU notes. – It has been established that the DRG was formed by Russian military intelligence personnel to carry out explosive activities on the territory of Ukraine.
It is noted that a resident of the temporarily occupied Luhansk, who, in the ranks of the terrorists of the “LPR”, actively participated in hostilities against the forces of the ATO in eastern Ukraine, was also included in the corresponding sabotage group.
On the instructions of a coordinator from Moscow, it was he who, using his connections among criminal circles, was looking for a killer to commit contract killings, the SBU notes. – A resident of Kyiv answered his proposal. For 5 thousand dollars. He agreed to the United States to liquidate the Ukrainian military, who, according to infidels, was allegedly involved in the physical massacre of Russian prisoners of war.
The Office of the Attorney General notes that this assassination should become a “test” task before performing the main tasks of the enemy. The duties of the recruited from Kiev included surveillance of the “object” and its further liquidation with the use of firearms.
And in order to assassinate the heads of the defense departments, the “messenger” decided to personally arrive on the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities. Here, together with an accomplice, they had to prepare a “liquidation” plan and submit it for approval to their leaders in Russia, the SBU notes.
It is noted that the attacker, in order to disguise the routes of movement, entered Ukraine through the territory of Belarus.
SBU officers documented his arrival in the Volyn region through the Domanovo checkpoint and meeting with an accomplice, the report says. – To prevent the commission of especially serious crimes, counterintelligence officers of the Security Service, with the involvement of fighters from the TsSO “A”, detained both malefactors in Kovel.
During the search, evidence of criminal acts, as well as a passport of a Russian citizen, were found at the “connected person”. Both detainees were informed of suspicion of high treason committed under martial law and premeditated murder.
The issue of choosing a measure of restraint in the form of detention is being decided.
