Amnesty International, in preparing its scandalous report on the accusation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of endangering civilians, used the testimony of people who were in filtration camps and prisons in the temporarily occupied territories.
That is, such testimony was given under obvious pressure. This was reported on August 8 by the press service of the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security under the Ministry of Culture and Information of Ukraine.
According to the information available to the department, independent journalists and volunteers were involved in the process of collecting testimony on the territory of Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
At the same time, most of the materials for the report were obtained during a survey of people evacuated to temporarily uncontrolled territories of Ukraine: the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions or Crimea, the department notes. – In particular, the material was collected on the territory of filtration camps and prisons, a survey was conducted among those wishing to provide this kind of information.
It is noted that sometimes this kind of interview, in which the interviewed person gave the testimony necessary to the invaders, was the only chance to pass the filtration and leave the occupied territories.
In addition, the materials collected by journalists and hired volunteers were also checked by the administration of institutions and, in some cases, by employees of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.
Therefore, such information collected in the camps should not be used at all in compiling the report. Since such interviews were selected under obvious pressure from the security forces of the Russian Federation (administration of institutions), which was carried out on an ongoing basis, the department notes.
Amnesty International regrets the pain caused by their report, but does not change its position.
