The Office of the President called on the IAEA to influence Russia after the shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant on Friday.
The International Nuclear Energy Agency (IAEA) should respond harshly to the shelling of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant by Russian aggressors and call on the Russian Federation to transfer the plant under the control of the commission. It was written by the adviser to the head of the Office of the President Mikhail Podolyak in Twitter on Saturday, August 6th.
“This Saturday morning in many European cities was possible because yesterday the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant miraculously did not fly into the air. Russia seized the station and is carrying out dangerous provocations,” said Podolyak.
He emphasized that Russia should release the nuclear power plant and allow experts to the station.
“The IAEA/UN should strongly demand that Russia withdraw from the nuclear power plant and transfer it under the control of a special commission,” he added.
It will be recalled that yesterday the Russian aggressors fired twice at the ZNPP. The power unit No. 4 were killed at the station. It works with the risk of violating radiation and fire safety standards.
President Vladimir Zelensky called such acts of terrorism by the Russian Federation and called for sanctions against Rosatom and the entire Russian nuclear sector.
