Bus with pilgrims from Poland overturned in Croatia, 11 victims

A major road accident occurred in northwestern Croatia. A bus carrying Polish pilgrims overturned, killing 11 people and injuring 34 others. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki in Twitter on Saturday, August 6th.

“This morning, in a terrible accident in Varaždin (Croatia), 11 people died, 34 were injured and hospitalized. These are pilgrims on their way to Medjugorje. I want to express my deepest condolences to the families of the victims, ” Morawiecki wrote.

He added that in connection with the accident, he spoke with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic.

Meanwhile, Reuters claims that the number of victims of the accident has reached 12, and 43 were injured. At the same time, 18 people are in serious condition. Due to an accident in the direction of Zagreb, only one lane is open on the A4.
