At least 1,063 children have suffered in Ukraine as a result of Russia’s massive armed aggression. As of Saturday morning, August 6, the official number of child victims was 361, of which more than 702 were injured, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
It is indicated that these numbers are not final, as work is underway to establish them in areas of active conflict, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
Children suffered the most in Donetsk region – 371, Kharkiv – 197, Kyiv – 116, Chernihiv – 68, Luhansk – 61, Mykolaiv – 58, Kherson – 55, Zaporozhye – 40.
On the eve it became known that on August 5, as a result of the shelling of Nikolaev, a 13-year-old boy was injured.
Prosecutors also learned that on July 28, due to shelling in the village of Chernobaevka, Kherson region, a boy was injured.
In addition, on March 22, a 6-year-old boy was injured as a result of shelling in the city of Izyum, Kharkiv region. And on June 21, as a result of shelling in the village of Malye Prohody, Kharkiv region, a 12-year-old boy died from injuries received.
2,211 educational institutions were damaged due to bombing and shelling by the armed forces of the Russian Federation. Of these, 230 were completely destroyed.
Remember, on August 1, the state portal for finding children, Children of War, was launched in Ukraine. It can be used by anyone who has information about a child affected by the military aggression of the Russian Federation.
