The interlocutors, among other things, raised the issue of macro-financial support for Kyiv from Berlin and the EU.
On Thursday, August 4, the Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak had a telephone conversation with Jens Pletner, Foreign Policy Advisor to the German Chancellor. This was reported by the OP’s press service.
As indicated, the parties discussed the security and economic support of Ukraine, as well as the development of a system of security guarantees for our state.
In particular, Yermak noted the need for an accelerated reception of Kyiv’s modern weapons and increased sanctions pressure on Russia. In addition, the issue of macro-financial support for Ukraine from Germany and the EU was raised.
Also, the representative of Kyiv expressed hope for a high level of participation of the German side in the online summit of the Crimean Platform on August 23.
It can be recalled that the Office of the President previously said that Germany is blocking an aid package to Ukraine from the European Union in the amount of eight billion euros.
According to Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, it was “either a mistake or a crime.”
