At least 6.3 million people remain in European countries, of which around 3.7 million are registered as refugees.
During the war, 10,350,489 people were evacuated from Ukraine. The said data on Wednesday, August 3, is provided by the UN Refugee Agency.
More than 5 million people went to Poland, almost a million – to Hungary, the same number to Romania and Germany. Also, about two million people went to Russia, more than 1 million – to Hungary, about 964 thousand – to Romania. 471,000 Ukrainian refugees left for Slovakia, and 557,000 for Moldova.
“This is one of the biggest migration crises since the Second World War, and by far the fastest,” said the Refugee Agency’s latest report.
In total, since the end of February, more than 10.3 million Ukrainians, or about a quarter of the country’s population, have left their homes (according to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, on January 1, 2022, almost 41.2 million people live in the country). At the same time, there have been approximately 4.2 million border crossings into Ukraine since February 28.
It will be remembered that a tent camp for refugees from Ukraine was closed in Prague due to a decrease in the number of people who needed temporary accommodation.
It is also reported that more than 900,000 Ukrainian refugees are registered in Germany.
