Of particular concern to the Moldovan authorities is the escalation of hostilities in the direction of Odessa.
The plans of the Russian Federation do not include an invasion of Moldova. This was announced on Wednesday, August 3, by the Minister of Defense of Moldova, Anatoly Nosatii, in an interview with Agora.
“Russian forces are fighting in the southeast of Ukraine, at a distance that ensures our stability. Although Russian rocket explosions are sometimes heard in the southern region of the country, and this is very alarming, now there is no immediate danger of possible aggression or military action on the territory of Moldova,” he said.
“Due to official channels from several sources, we know that the Russian military plans do not include the territory of Moldova,” he added.
It is known that the Prime Minister of Moldova, Natalia Gavrilitsa, said that the threat of the spread of conflict in Moldova still exists. Of particular concern to the Moldovan authorities is the escalation of hostilities in the direction of Odessa.
It was previously reported that Moldova has decided to turn to Romania for help if the conflict in Ukraine spreads to its territory, and relations with the Russian Federation deteriorate.
