Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation are working on the case of a Ukrainian politician and businessman, who is now helping, is suspected of treason for collaborating with the Russian invaders.
Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) are conducting searches on the premises of the Channel 4 TV channel, owned by a person suspected of high treason and aiding the Russian invaders. This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday, August 3.
The bureau noted that the investigative actions were carried out by his assistant and officials of the TV channel. Currently, the management of the rights of the channel company has been transferred to the Asset Tracing and Management Agency.
The State Bureau of Investigation recalled that the court arrested the property of the traitorous deputy Aleksey Kovalev for its subsequent confiscation in favor of the state.
“In particular, the defendant’s shares in the authorized capital of 3 legal entities, as well as his bank accounts, were arrested. The total value of corporate rights is more than 4.7 million hryvnias,” the report said .
According to the bureau, one of the legal entities, 100% of the authorized capital of which was arrested, is TRK Interradio LLC, the Ukrainian information and entertainment channel Channel 4.
In April 2022, investigators opened criminal proceedings against a representative of the people of Ukraine who, after the mass invasion of the Russian Federation, was in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region and was helping the occupiers. They also established that at the beginning of July 2022, Aleksey Kovalev took the position of deputy chairman in the “administration” illegally created by the occupiers – the “Kherson region government”. On July 6, 2022, the Attorney General informed him, based on evidence collected by the State Bureau of Investigation, of the suspicion.
At the request of the DBR, on July 15, the People’s Deputy of Ukraine Oleksiy Kovalev was elected a measure of restraint in the form of detention without an alternative to bail. Currently, the deputy has been placed on the wanted list.
Recall that in early May, Alexei Kovalev was expelled from the group Servant of the People, but he still has the mandate of a people’s deputy.
In addition, Kovalev was charged with suspicion of high treason and collusion with the aggressor state.
