Ukraine has received about 3.5 million large -caliber shells as part of the “artillery initiative”. This was said by President of the Czech Republic Peter Pavel during a lecture at Harvard University, UNN reports.
He emphasized that this program has become one of the key elements of international support of Ukraine, opposed to the entire Russian invasion.

Earlier, Czech prime minister Peter Fiala explained that Prague had bought ammunition not only under the European Union, but also in third countries to ensure the needs of Ukraine’s armed forces as quickly as possible.
Pyotr Pavel also recalled that the Czech Republic was among the first countries to respond to a call for aid immediately after the Russian Federation in February 2022 in Ukraine territory. Prague then actually broke his military warehouses to move heavy weapons and other necessary equipment to Kyiv.
He emphasized that support from the Czech Republic was not limited to weapons: the country provided asylum more than 400 thousand Ukraine refugees, who actively participated in the introduction of sanctions against Russia and implemented Ukraine assistance programs.
