Ukraine and Syria agreed to restore diplomatic relations.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with the head of Syria, Ahmed Hussein Esh-Shara in the fields of the UN General Assembly. The head of state noted that Ukraine is recommended to restore relations with Syria and is ready to maintain the Syrian people on the way to stability. Zelensky reported on Facebook.
According to him, the parties agreed to build relations between Ukraine and Syria on the basis of mutual respect, trust and dignity. They also discussed the prospects of the industry for the development of bilateral relations in the field of agriculture. There was also talking about security threats to both countries.
Subsequently, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga and the Foreign Minister of Syria Asaad Ash-Shebani in the presence of the presidents signed a joint commander to restore diplomatic relations.
We will recall that in December 2024, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to establish contacts with representatives of the Syrian people after the fall of the regime Bashar al -Assad. Subsequently, Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga met with the actual leader of Syria Ahmed al-Shara in Damascus.
