European Commission president Ursula Von der Lyain has called on China to use its influence to put Russia in negotiations for stopping war against Ukraine. He reported this on Social Network X based on the results of a meeting with China Lee Coy’s Prime Minister in New York.
“As for the Russian military aggression against Ukraine, I accepted Prime Minister Lee’s statement that Europe and China share an interest in maintaining peace worldwide,” Von der Lyain said.
The European Commission leader on the Chinese Europe also explained Europe’s readiness to “hinder” Russia’s income funding the war against Ukraine.
“I turned to China with the request to use my influence to help end the killings and encourage Russia to sit at the negotiation table. It’s time for diplomacy. It will be a powerful signal for the world,” Von der Layen said.
The parties say that the EU and China should continue to develop each other’s trust and continue to coordinate its work.
