The issue of selecting the chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine will continue to be considered at one of the following special plenary meetings.
The judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine were unable to select the KSU chairman during a special plenary session. This was reported by the Press Service of the court.
It was noted that on September 18, a special session of the Plenary of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine was held, in which the court considered the selection of the chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine. The court will continue its consideration in one of the following special plenary sessions.
Currently, because there is no chairman or his deputy at KSU, as senior age, the court is led by Alexander Petrishin.
As you know, after a simultaneous resignation of the three judges at the same time on January 27, 2025, KSU lost KSU and could not hold Great Chamber meetings and the second Senate. Only the first Senate continued working.
The Quorum in KSU was recovered at the end of June, when the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky appointed Alexander Vodiannikov as a Kvot Kvot judge. In July, the judges held a Grand Chamber meeting in the new composition, considering the representations of the representatives of the people and the President.
Currently, at the Grand Chamber meetings of the Constitutional Court, there were problems, because in some cases the judges said a self -confrontation, and their consideration was stopped. Since there are only 12 judges in court – a critical value for the meeting, in the case of allocation of any of the judges, the consideration of the cases becomes impossible.
The choice of KSU judges is engaged in a group of experts counseling, which should evaluate the moral properties and levels of capability in the field of candidates from the appointment, the Verkhovna Rada, the President and the Congress of Ukraine judges.
As you know, this year, in February, Kge passed to Verkhovna Rada and the President for the appointment of 5 KSU – 2 of the Parliament quota and 3 of the President’s quota. Currently, by his quota, the President has appointed two judges, while the parliament of the judges has not yet been appointed. The competition for the KSU judge’s position in the Ukraine judge’s Congress quota also continues.
Remember, President Vladimir Zelensky on September 17 signed an order at Yuri Barabash’s appointment of KSU judge in his quota. When the drum carries an oath, 13 judges of 18 requirements will be counted to the police.
Earlier, on June 27, the President appointed Alexander Vodiannikov as a judge of the Constitutional court.
