Thousands of convicts were mobilized in the defense forces of Ukraine.
More in the ranks of Ukrainian units that perform tasks to protect the homeland, more than 10 thousand prisoners mobilized. These people received a conditionally release release from the grate. The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine reported this at the request of NV.
It is noted that prisoners can be conditionally dismissed for a military service contract during mobilization and/or martial law.
However, not all convicts can get to the troops. In particular, those who were convicted of the deliberate killing of two or more people (or for the murder with particular cruelty or in combination with sexual violence), and those who were convicted of especially serious criminal corruption crimes cannot be mobilized.
We will recall that in 2024 in Ukraine it adopted a law that allows the voluntary mobilization of prisoners. Subsequently, the Ukrainian command showed how convicts who decided to join military personnel from the 35th Marine Corps of Odessa were trained on one of the landfills.
