Restrictions in Europe against the Russian Federation are “not tough enough”, Europeans must strengthen the steps, the US president said.
NATO and Europe “do not do their job”, as they continue to buy Russian energy sources. US president Donald Trump has declared this, and emphasized that the United States’s further steps on the issue of penalties depend on whether European countries would strengthen its own restriction steps.
“Listen, Europe is my friends, but they buy oil from Russia. Therefore, you can’t wait for us to be the only one in the power. I don’t want them to buy oil,” said the American leader.
He also declared a claim that the restrictions in Europe against the Russian Federation were “not tough enough.”
“I’m ready to impose sanctions, but they have to strengthen myself according to what I do,” Trump emphasized.
He also answered a direct question of whether he was ready to be the next steps in increasing the pressure in Russia. According to him, he was willing to move forward, but only on the condition of the appropriate action from Europe.
“But now they just say, and not act. See: They bought oil in Russia, and we didn’t buy oil in Russia. They bought a lot of oil in Russia. It’s not a deal,” he said.
Remember that the US Minister of Energy Chris Wright has called on Russian energy sources of energy sources to the EU to stop the campaign against EU’s efforts to renounce hopes of Russia’s energy and instead of buying energy sources in America.
