The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Oan Tsou, spoke sharply about Russian provocations related to the launch of drones that violate his country’s airspace. He announced his desire to appeal to the UN General Assembly with a call for strict compliance with sanctions against Russia. TSOI reported it via Social Network X on Sunday, September 14th.
According to him, Romanian military forces blocked the Russian drone, which penetrated the country’s airspace near Danube.
“Two F-16 fighters from the 86th wind base tracked him down until he left our airspace after 50 minutes, without causing any injuries or victims, and two union German Eurofighter fighters were also ready for the air, following the situation,” the minister said.
TSOI assured that the Romanian population was not at risk. At the same time, he described Russia’s actions as unacceptable and unreasonable.
In the southeast of the country, they even expressed anxiety over the situation.
The minister emphasized that Romania strongly condemns such provocative maneuvers, taking the necessary steps to protect its sovereignty interests. He also noted that Bucharest is ongoing to talk to partners from the EU and NATO to ensure coordination with issues in addressing challenges in Russia.
Oana Tsoi calls soon to adopt a 19 -19 -pack of sanctions against Russia at the EU level and the intensified use of steps as part of NATO’s operation Eastern guard.
He emphasized that the issue of Russia’s provocations would be raised to the UN General Assembly with a call to strictly observe sanctions at international levels.
As found earlier, on Saturday the Russian drone entered the Romanian territory at a distance of nearly 10 km, which remained in its airspace for about 50 minutes.
