German concern Rheinmetall is preparing to provide Ukraine’s armed forces with modern protection systems from skyranger drones, which expands military assistance to the country. On Monday, September 8, Rai News reported.
According to the Rheinmetall CEO, Armin Papperger, a multimillion -dollar contract for the supply of these systems was planned to end on September 10 at the DSEI London exhibition.
“We will give our skyranger systems this year,” Pappperger said.
The skyranger system is a mobile anti -Aircraft platform, which can be installed in leopard tanks. It provides territory protection with an area of up to 16 square squares, guaranteeing zones that are completely free from drones.
Armin Papperger noted that Bundeswehr is also interested in this technology, and emphasizes that “in the current situation, the use of the skyranger can provide decisive assistance to Ukraine.”
It is noteworthy that RheinMetall’s remembrance has invested in the development of its defense industry: on August 27, the largest factory for producing artillery shells in Europe opened near Hanover. The company is expected to produce up to 350 thousand shells per year, but it will reach maximum indicators only in 2027.
