In Kyiv, on Independence Square today, September 5, a protest against changes in the legislation, which strengthens the responsibility of the military for the HCP and the inability to fulfill orders.
As of 21.00, about two hundred people gathered for protest, the public reports.
According to the protesters, the action is one of them. They do not plan to go outside every day compared to the law on eliminating the independence of NABU and SAP.
One of the initiators of the protest is combat medicine and veterans Alina Sarnatskaya. Protesters demand:
- Do not adopt Law No. 13260 on strengthening the military liability of the HCP, which Verkhovna Rada was supported in the first reading yesterday, September 4;
- To adopt a bill on the military Ombudsman. He was represented by the president in May 2025 as “urgent”. In June 2025, it was adopted as the basis, but since then the bill has been waiting for a second reading;
- Do not adopt bill No. 13452, which is aimed at strengthening the punishment for the military for non -compliance with commanders from commanders for a period of 5 to 10 years in prison – without the ability of the court to impose a milder punishment or trial period. Currently, the bill awaits Rada Verkhovna in the first reading.
