The German Ministry of Labor announced the next freezing of social payments in 2026 for 5.6 million recipients of assistance, including many migrants in Ukrainian.
According to the ministry, a single person will continue to receive 563 euros per month, and payments to children will depend on the age: 357-471 euro.
At the same time, the Minister of Labor Bergel Bas has offered more strict sanctions for those who do not cooperate with working centers. For missing mandatory procedures, assistance will be reduced by 30%, and those who refuse the proposed work can completely withdraw the payments.
“We offer people greater support to work, but for those who don’t work together, we significantly complicate it,” Bas said.
This is especially true for Ukrainians who are unemployed who receive social assistance in Germany. The decision will enter the strength after approved by the Ministers’ Cabinet on September 10, without the need for coordination with Bundestag.
Changes are associated with the need to adjust social benefits after reducing inflation and changing common rates.
