Sending military educators to Ukraine during a Truce will be part of the EU’s contribution to security guarantees for our state, Kai Callas said.
Defense ministers of European Union member countries have supported the expansion of the EU Manda military mission for Ukraine (Eumam Ukraine) following the establishment of a Truce. This includes the direction of military educators, the Supreme EU said for foreign activities and security policies of Kai Callas on Friday, August 29th.
“I invite the wide support today for expanding the mandate of our EUMAM military mission to ensure the training and consultation of Ukraine after any Truce … We have prepared more than 80 thousand soldiers and should be ready to do more,” he said in a briefing in Copenhagen.
According to Kallas, the direction of military educators in Ukraine during a Truce would be part of the EU’s contribution to security guarantees for our state. European countries will fully fulfill their obligations.
He made it clear that it could include “putting EU educators in academic military and institutions.” Like the European Civil Mission can strengthen Ukraine’s stability with the Hybrid attack of the Russian Federation.
According to Kallas, Ukraine’s experience in Battlefield “can be changed by European good”, while European side will help Ukraine open EU production lines and encourage investments.
“EU member states have identified nine places priority (at defense costs.), Such as air defense and missile defense, drone, ammunition. Today, ministers have discussed ways to eliminate the biggest gaps,” he added.
As you know, on October 17, 2022, the EU Council decided to create the Eumam mission to help Ukraine in the training of military personnel. Recruits for ZSU continue mainly in Poland and Germany.
In November 2024, the EU Council expanded the deadline for Eumam for another two years and provided more than 400 million euros to provide it.
