In particular, the ministers will discuss the use of the so -called tool against the rotation of penalties, adopted in 2023, but has not yet applied. This tool may prohibit exporting, supply or transfer of certain goods to third countries, believing to be able to miss the penalties.
The possibility of introducing additional penalties directed against Russia’s oil and gas sectors, as well as further restrictions on the import and export of Russian goods, is also considered, also said the resources. These discussions will be held in an informal format and will not remember a particularly new package of penalties.
Today the EU is working on the 19th package of penalties, which is expected to focus on abductors of Ukrainian children.
