A lawyer who deceived the families of the dead and lost military personnel for more than 1 million UAH, threatened up to 12 years in prison.
In Lviv, a lawyer will be judged, which, under the help, has deceived the families of the dead and lost military personnel. According to GBR, it lasted more than 1 million UAH. This was reported by the GBR press service on Wednesday, August 27th.
The accusation was sent to the court.
“The defendant entered confidence in the legal military unit advisor, who helped the families of the dead and lost military personnel. He represented a scammer as a lawyer who said he quickly took financial assistance and solved other relevant problems,” GBR said.
One of the victims of the crook was a resident of the LVIV region, whose husband died during the Donetskin fights. She was left alone with cancer with four children. The lawyer convinced the widow that by receiving material assistance from the state, there could be difficulties and offered 30% of the amount of help to “agree” to the required people in Kyiv.
The lawyer also took 25 thousand hryvnia monthly for his services. He met the victim at restaurants, where he “rested” many thousands of hryvnias at his expense.
The “jurist” also offered a woman to do a mood to her, so that in the event of her death, the children would not quarrel with money.
To hide the activity, the lawyer ordered the victim to open an account with a bank in his name and send him a card with a pin code by mail. The attack then passed the package to his friend and asked him to check the card balance. In the future, nearly 800 thousand hryvnias were removed from him.
In addition, another resident of the LVIV region exploited the “services” of fraud. His wife lost her husbands in the Luhansk region. The lawyer made sure he could help find the missing person. He said he had the appropriate connection and was able to conduct a search for the temporary occupied territories of Ukraine, and even the Russian Federation. The attacker convinced the search as soon as possible, where his wife’s life should depend. In this woman, she managed to “come out” 460 thousand UAH, after which her phone number changed.
In general, the suspect caused the victims to cost more than 1 million hryvnias. In addition, she has intended to occupy one of the personal ways of one of the women for 1 million 150 thousand UAHs as an additional fee for her “services”.
The defendant will be judged by fraud under part 4 of Art. 190, Part 2 of Art. 15, Part 5 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces a penalty for imprisonment for up to 12 years.
Previously, scammers were confined to wipe money from ZSU military personnel and their families.
