Russia’s side really showed a willingness to be flexible according to some of its basic requirements, the US vice-president said.
US vice-president Jay Di Vincent said that for the first time in a whole war, Russia was subject to significant concessions, recognizing the impossibility of establishing a puppet regime in Ukraine and the need to maintain the integrity of the territory. He said this in an interview with NBC News.
“In my opinion, the Russians for the first time in the 3.5 years of this conflict continued with significant concessions with President Trump. They really showed their willingness to be flexible according to some basic requirements. They said it was necessary for the end of the war,” Vincent said.
In his conviction, the Russians recognized the impossibility of establishing a puppet regime in Kyiv.
“I did not say that all the Russians were lost. However, they were defeated by recognizing that Ukraine would have territorial integrity after the war. They admitted that they could not establish a puppet regime in KYIV, this was the basic requirement at first,” the vice president explained.
At the same time, he emphasized that it was Ukrainians who would decide what the territorial boundaries of their country would be. And he added that President Trump’s administration “saw significant concessions from both sides.”
“If you look at the Russian behavior, they do not want a stopping stop. And there are difficult reasons for it. Of course, we insist on stopping, but, again, we do not control Russia’s actions, otherwise the war will end 7 months ago,” Vincent said.
However, he assured that the US president “has many trumpet cards to carry out pressure and try to end this conflict, and this is what we will do.”
In the past, Jay Di Vincent emphasized that the United States would no longer go to “funding the conflict in Ukraine” and intended to achieve it soon.
