The Russian military has decided to escape from Russia to Norway for “conscience factors,” Russia’s lawyer said.
Norway police were confined to a Russian soldier who illegally crossed the Norway and Russia border Friday, August 22. VG reported it.
Norway border forces discovered an illegal border crossing across the Pasvikelva River at 9:20 on Friday and the Finnmark District reported it.
Law enforcement officials later reported the restraint of a person, but did not specify the source or motive for crossing the border.
Norwegian Security Police also said he knew about the restraint, but refused to disclose the details.
The detainee’s lawyer told the media that his client was a Russian soldier.
“He was in Ukraine and decided that he no longer wanted to participate in the war. He decided to flee to Norway,” he added.
The Russian military has made such a decision for “conscience factors,” the attorney claimed.
