Citizens of Ukraine with documents can leave the Russian Federation through the territory of Belarus or directly from the territory of Russia through the Baltic countries to Europe.
About 1.3 million Ukrainians have been deported or left to the territory of the aggressor country Russia since the beginning of the war on June 1. This was announced by the Ombudsman for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets in an interview with LB.
“According to our information, about 1 million 300 thousand citizens of Ukraine were taken or left for the territory of the Russian Federation,” said Lubinets.
According to him, the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, citing official data from the Russian Federation, named a different number: about 1 million Ukrainians who left for Russia on June 1.
Lubinets noted that citizens of Ukraine with documents can leave the Russian Federation through the territory of Belarus or directly from the territory of Russia through the Baltic countries to Europe.
If there are no documents, the Ombudsman may apply to the court in the interest of any citizen of Ukraine regarding the receipt of documents.
“We started doing this. We have the first positive cases: when we went to court and received a positive court decision, we received documents through the registry office,” said Lubinets.
According to him, the documents were handed over by volunteers to a certain family that was on the territory of the Russian Federation, and they were able to leave.
Lubinets also added that Ukraine is currently negotiating for consular services to Ukrainians to be provided by the Swiss Embassy in Russia.
It was previously reported that Ukrainian refugees in the Czech Republic were denied free medical insurance.
And in Poland, refugees from Ukraine have been granted the right to cross EU borders using the Diia.pl electronic document.
