Russia did not like the composition of the arbitrators. The foreign ministry said they would not recognize any tribunal decision.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation announced the release of the country from international arbitration to occupy three Ukrainian ships in the Kerch Strait in 2018. The reason is said to be “violation of the procedure during the tribal composition of the tribunal.”
Last year, the Russian Federation itself achieved the removal of two of the five judges due to the fact that they signed a declaration condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The arbitrators who replaced them were also not organized, as “selected without Russia’s side participation and performed in Anti -Russian statements.”
As a result, the Russian Federation only left arbitration, saying that “any tribunal decision will not have the legal force and will not be recognized.”
The arbitration between Ukraine and Russia in the rise of 2018 in the Kerch Strait for three years has not actually moved from a dead point: in 2022, judges only confirmed that the Ukraine case was in their area.
Remember, on November 25, 2018, near the Kerch Bridge, special forces of the Russian Federation obtained three Ukrainian ships. As a result, six Ukrainian troops were injured.
The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine said the Russian Federation has released war against Ukraine in neutral water.
