US president Donald Trump said that if the conquest of Crimea took place during his presidency, then this event would remain in the media focus for the next 20 years. On Wednesday, August 20, the Clash Report said.

At the same time, the President now emphasized that the media has not mentioned that the conquest of Crimea took place during Barack Obama’s presidency.

As you know, the conquest of Crimea began in February 2014, when the Russian military without recognizing the signs of the strategic important structures on the peninsula. Power was taken under the control of Moscow, after which they organized a pseudo -Referendum – actions considered by the international community. On March 18, 2014, Russia announced the “climbing” of Crimea, which violates Ukraine’s sovereignty and the customs of international law.

The community of the world negatively noticed this event. The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution in support of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and has confirmed that Crimea remains an integral part of it. United States President Barack Obama was one of the first condemns in Moscow’s actions, emphasizing the illegal referendum conducted by the Russian military.

In his initiative, the United States and the European Union began the introduction of sanctions against Russia aimed at people from the nearby Kremlin circle and strategic sectors of the country. Obama repeatedly emphasized that Crimea remains Ukraine’s territory, and its capture is a dangerous violation of international principles and stability in the world.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said a “specific exchange of territories” should be expected in a peace agreement with the Russian-Ukrainian War.

Remember that Zelensky also emphasized that territorial exchange issues could only be discussed at the level of leaders during a Tripartite meeting with Russian Federation leader Vladimir Putin and Trump, whom the American president wants to fix.
