The device can pass more than 1600 km and dive at a depth, not accessible to standard royal fleet submarines.
Great Britain conducted a successful Ultra -Large test underwater without an excalibur vehicle, controlled at a great distance. This was reported by the publication that was kind -friendly engineering.
As mentioned in the publication, the test was performed as part of Talisman Saber’s workouts in July, where military units participated in Great Britain and Australia. The drone is controlled from the operating center in Australia, which is over 10,000 miles (over 16,000 km) from the location of the apparatus, located in the waters in Britain.
This test is part of a series of Aukus Pillar II Maritime Big Play Projects. The United States, Great Britain and Australia realized they were to assess the ability to use robotics and autonomous systems at sea.
It was reported that the excalibur device itself was represented in May of this year of MSUBS, which specializes in the formation of autonomous underwater mechanisms. Its features are amazing: the length is 12 meters, the width is 2 meters, the removal is about 21 tons. The device can pass 1000 miles (over 1600 km) and dive at a depth, not accessible to standard royal fleet submarines. Thanks to modular design, the drone can be used on a variety of devices depending on the needs of the mission.
Official resources note that excalibur is not developed for military operations. The main task of the device is to serve as a platform for testing and developing new tactical techniques and technical requirements for incorporating un managed systems in future sea military operation.
Rear Admiral James Parkin emphasized the importance of excalibur in the preparation of the Armada for the Autonomous Sea Drone period. In his opinion, this device will be a tool for studying the difficulties and features of cooperation between the manned and autonomous systems under the water.
Over the next two years, large excalibur trials have been planned, which should determine its role in future Naval operations, the publication added.
Earlier it was reported that the UK had successfully experienced microwave weapons to destroy the “flock” of rapiddestroyer drones. The new electromagnetic weapon technology has shown a wide bundle of energy, which is relatively inexpensive and able to destroy some drones at the same time. These weapons are about to be used in modern battlefields, including Ukraine.
