EBRD financing is supplemented by a significant grant from the Norway government through a special EBRD crisis response fund, as well as a similar loan from the EIB.

The total volume of support package from Ukrainian international partners and banks of the Eur1 billion, making it possible to continue to conduct a natural gas extraction program in Ukraine as part of the preparation for the heating period of 2025-2026. This is said by the Deputy Executive Director from Ukraine to EBRD Artem Shevalev.

He said that on July 13 an agreement was signed with the provision of EUR500 million renewable loans for UPTogaz of Ukraine for the purchase of gas, which was the largest one -hour transaction in EBRD history and was first issued under the EU guarantee, – without the Ukraine state guarantee.

According to him, the European bank clearly realized the losses that Russia had been destroying with blows in gas and gas infrastructure, and was ready to continue to support Naptogaz and the Ukraine energy sector.

Shevalev noted that EBRD financing is supplemented by a significant grant from the Norwegian government through a special funding of EBRD crisis, as well as a similar loan from the European Investment Bank at the cost of EUR300 million also under EU guarantee. All purchases will be made in accordance with EBRD procedures to entrepreneurs who pass the pre-cligation of the air and the EBRD (at the moment 30).

The grant from Norway, in particular, will be given in addition to the EUR140 million grants from Norway, received in the first half of 2025.

Shevalev added that the NAC worked as efficiently as possible with Ukrainian banks, and the company attracted credit funds from Privatbank and Ukrgasbank to the equivalent of EUR100 million from each of the banks under the purchase of gas.

Keep in mind that this year, Ukraine began to pump gas against the back of the low -ground storage facilities. In addition, the situation is complicated due to the regular attacks of Russian invaders in gas facilities.

But in early August, it was learned that the situation was improving, and the import of gas in Ukraine had reached a maximum for two years.
