A special supporter of US President Steve Witkoff gave a signal that Russia was ready to stop fire.
This was stated today, August 12, while communicating with reporters, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
According to Zelensky, this was the first such signal of the Russian Federation, but later it turned out that this was not entirely true:
We had a call with President Trump and some European leaders. During the call, there was a signal from Mr. Witkoff, which was also called that Russia was ready by the end of the war, at the first step, at least for the ceasefire. And this is the signal for the first time from them. And all during the call were positive from this that some shift (changes) occurred.
Zelensky also added that there was also a signal of the territory:
During the call, I said that I was not ready to discuss the territory of Ukraine, since this is only a matter of our constitution. And, frankly, throughout all respect I am not ready to discuss the relevant issues by phone. These are serious problems that are solved at the level of leaders.
According to Zelenski, there were differences in the proposal for the format of the meetings of the leaders, and he asked to build a discussion at national security consultants (ANB) on the Internet and, if you need an autonomous regime, and then offer formats in the formats of two or tripartite meetings.
The President of the United States, I am grateful to him, said: “Yes, I will send it, it will be an ANSMEITING, and give all the other meetings after the NBA-Meeting, OK, SAID Zelensky.
After a conversation with the NSA, consultants on national security, on the Internet and Britain, it became clear that what sounded on the phone was most likely not the same thing that Russia passed the American side in a double conversation, ”he added.
