The German protective concern Rheinmetall wants to increase the capacity of his future plant in Ukraine.
The weapon planned that the company would produce 150 thousand artillery shells of 155 mm caliber. However, the plant will be able to produce twice as many ammunition – 300,000 arts per year. Such capacity will be possible during the first two years. This was stated by the Director General of Armin Papperger, reports portal German assistance in Ukraine.
He added that such production should help Ukraine reduce dependence on the import of ammunition and provide the force of defense with the necessary weapons.
In addition, the head of Rheinmetall complained to the bureaucracy in Ukraine, which prevents the project. He emphasized that the construction of new plants in Germany and Ukraine began almost simultaneously. Nevertheless, the German plant is almost ready, and the enterprise is still being built in Ukraine.
We will recall that the German concern for Rheinmetall in July 2024 officially received an order for the Ukrainian government to build an ammunition plant in Ukraine. And in November last year it was reported that Rheinmetall will soon complete its second plant in Ukraine.
