Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, reacted to the video of the Russian military, who castrated a captive Ukrainian soldier with a clerical knife.

All the world needs to understand: Russia is a country of cannibals who enjoy torture and murder. But the fog of war will not help the Russian executioners escape punishment. We identify everyone. We will get everyone,” he wrote on Twitter.

US Congressional senior adviser Paul Massaro also reacted to the video. He called on the West to give Ukraine ATACMS long-range missiles and modern tanks to “put an end to this crime against humanity.”

He added that Russian war crimes in Ukraine are “an insult to all mankind.”

ATACMS for Ukraine. And modern battle tanks. Give them everything. Everything they need to end this crime against humanity

On the evening of July 28, a video of abuse of a prisoner of war in Ukrainian camouflage appeared on one of the Russian Telegram channels. Two other military men, who spoke Russian, castrated the prisoner with a clerical knife.

The Russians have several Telegram channels where they publish photos and videos of killed or captured Ukrainian soldiers. It was on one of them that a video appeared on July 28.

It is difficult to identify the scene of the incident. The military talk to each other in Russian without an accent, mocking a prisoner of war in Ukrainian camouflage with yellow and blue stripes and hands tied.

Nearby is a car with a capital letter Z on the hood – a symbol of Russian technology in the occupied territories.

According to Babel, one of those who mocked the prisoner had a hat that looked like a cowboy. Twitter users found a Russian military man who had the exact same hat. He was noticed on some videos of propagandists from the occupied Severodonetsk. This Russian has the same bracelet as the one who mocked the Ukrainian captive.

Human rights activists point out that cutting off organs is the most obvious example of torture, which is always condemned by the world community and prohibited by the Geneva Convention. Therefore, in this case it is obvious that we are talking about a war crime.
