The purpose of these steps is to “limit the uncontrolled flow” of illegal migrants.

Checks on the Polish-German and Polish-lithuanian borders will continue at least until the beginning of October. In Warsaw, they said border measures were required due to the illegal movement of Belarus and Russia. Euronews reported it on Sunday, August 3.

Poland expanded temporary control over the boundaries including Germany and Lithuania until October 4.

“The 98 percent tightness of our barrier is forcing Belarus services, Russian services and illegal moves to move to other places,” said the Minister of Poland’s internal work, commenting on the Polish-lithuanian border situation.

Selective checks on the Polish-German border began midnight on July 7 with 52 border points. Similar steps operate on the border with Lithuania. To the citizens who cross the border, they review the certificates of passports and identities.

Polish prime minister Donald Tusk said these steps are aimed at “limiting uncontrolled flow” illegal migrants.

Earlier in Poland, a 36-year-old Ukrainian was confined to the suspicion of promoting illegal migrants from Afghanistan, who illegally crossed the Belarusian-polish border.
