The Ministry of Justice has received the right to receive information taking a bank secret to represent state interests in overseas courts. The corresponding law was signed by the President of Ukraine, the Ministry of Justice’s press service said Friday, August 1.
The Department of Factory Act, which changes the law “in banks and banking activities” was done, the Ministry of Justice received the right to receive information that generates a banking secret, for the purpose of representing Ukraine’s state interests in foreign jurisdiction, specifically in international arbitrations.
“This solution solves the problem that has long prevented the full -restored protection of Ukraine’s interests,” the justice ministry.
At the same time, it is emphasized earlier, despite the legitimate powers to represent the state, the ministry has no access to some important evidence in cases against Russian -related topics due to restrictions on acquiring information that make up the secrets of banking.
As explained to the Ministry of Justice, the new mechanism gives you to request the necessary information directly to the banks, ensuring the possibility of a full representation of Ukraine’s interests in international judicial institutions and actually provide Ukraine a tool of true legal protection.
Remember that in early July of this year, Verkhovna Rada Tax Committee head Danilo Getmans said that in the ninth of Verkhovna Rada they would not vote for the disclosure of banking secrets.
