President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed his bill on the return of NABU and SAP independence.
The head of state agreed with the document on the activities of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau and the specialized prosecutor’s office against corruption on Thursday, July 31, shortly after the parliament was approved. Zelensky promised that the law would be immediately published in the newspaper Voice of Ukraine, and also informed foreign partners. He stated this in the video.
The President also thanked the people’s deputies who voted for the bill today, calling him a “right decision”. Zelensky emphasized that “the state is listening to public opinion” and added that “Ukraine is democracy, without a doubt.”
On the website of the parliament, the status of the bill has changed to “returned with the signature of the President of Ukraine.”
We recall that on July 31, Verkhovna Rada during his meeting was supported by the presidential bill No. 13533 on the return of NABU and SAP independence as a whole. 331 MP voted for the corresponding decision.
In addition, 326 deputies confirmed that this bill will be signed immediately. The chairman of the parliament Ruslan Stefanchuk signed the law and sent the head of state.
The law provides that the subordination of the specialized anti -corruption prosecutor will cancel the prosecutor. It is also supposed to limit the influence of the Prosecutor General on Nabu, the institutional independence of SAP, and the simplification of the procedure for the appointment of prosecutors.
