In Ukraine, a coin of 10 cents will disappear from monetary circulation.
The National Bank of Ukraine is currently considering the possibility of a gradual withdrawal of 10 cash cents. Currently, there are about 5.5 billion pieces in cash. Exchange coins. Of these, 1.4 billion pieces of coins with a nominal value of 50 cents and 4.1 billion pieces of coins with a new cost of 10 cents. And coins of the 10th type have already stopped playing a significant role in cash payments for goods and services. NBU announced this on July 29 on Facebook.
The banking institution said that the gradual withdrawal from the circulation of these coins will reduce the cost of production, processing, transportation, storage and distribution of such money. It will begin to remove 10 cents from circulation from October 1.
Nevertheless, these variable coins will still be in circulation until their final removal is done. In addition, coins of 10 cents will be designed in the retail network.
Important! If during monetary operations there are no 10 cents, the rules for rounding of the total amounts in the check will be applied (as it was during the cancellation of coins with denominations of 1, 2, 5 and 25 cents). Rounding will not be made during payments without switching! – They emphasized in NBU.
We recall that the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine decided to maintain a discount rate at 15.5%. The bank emphasized that this decision will have a neutral impact on lending, taking into account the high competition of banks for high -quality borrowers.
