    Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, signed a law that provides for an increase in the number of employees of the Ukrainian Security Service by 10 thousand people.

    This is evidenced by information on the map of the relevant bill No. 13353 on the website of the Council.

    311 deputies voted for this bill on July 16. According to him:

    • The total number of SBU in peacetime increases from 27 thousand people to 37 thousand people, during a special period – from 31 to 41 thousand people;
    • Instead of a terrorism unit, the Center for Special Operations will be created for operating and hostilities. He should have at least 10 thousand people;
    • SBU military personnel are entitled to use weapons and military equipment during defense tasks.

    This law comes into force on the day after its publication.
