Diplomats have ensured that they carefully monitor the course of events. They also emphasized the hope of the new bill as soon as possible.
On July 22, Verkhovna Rada adopted Bill No. 12414, which provides for the restriction of the powers of the two major anti -corruption bodies – Nabu and SAP. The decision was supported by 263 representatives, and President Vladimir Zelensky signed the document the same day.
This happened against the rear of protests in Kyiv and other cities of Ukraine. People asked to impose a veto on the law criticized by the European Commission.
In response to a wave of disappointment to the public, President Zelensky offered Verkhovna Rada a new bill aimed at ensuring NABU’s freedom and sap. The initiative received support from both organs.
Parliament spokesman Ruslan Stefanchuk said the representatives plan to consider this document on Thursday, July 31.
